We have seen a dramatic increase in demand for our services since March, including a 60% increase in calls to our Support Line.

Your participation will help ensure we can continue to provide vital, free services for individuals and families impacted by depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.

All participants receive a custom medal that doubles as a Christmas tree decoration.

At a time when we need to stay apart, it is important that we still feel connected to one another. Join people all over Ireland and come together ‘virtually’ to take on a 5K challenge in support of mental health.

We need your help now, more than ever

Covid-19 has affected all aspects of our lives and its impact on mental health illustrates how profoundly mental health is shaped by the everyday conditions in which we live. People with pre-existing mental health conditions like depression are particularly vulnerable, but we are also seeing many people develop mental health difficulties for the first time.

The pandemic has impacted Aware's fundraising income this year. It’s time to prioritise mental health and we need your support to ensure we can be there for everyone who needs us. Every euro counts.

How does it work?

Calling all dashers, dancers and prancers...

The Aware Christmas 5k is taking place from Fri-Sun, 11th - 13th December 2020. As we are going virtual this year, you do not need to travel anywhere to take part.

 

Pick a 5k route close to home.

 

Whether you are a seasoned runner or enjoy a leisurely walk, this 5k is for you.

You can do laps of your garden, up and down the road, around the block. You can start from your own front door. You can go alone, with your household, with the dog, it's up to you.

Go in your thermals or Santa hat, it's 5k your way!

 

It doesn’t matter what level of fitness you have. You can walk, jog or run the 5km distance.

All you need to do now is register, get moving and of course take on the 5k safely, abiding by social distancing and Covid-19 guidelines.

Don't forget to spread the word and encourage your family and friends to get involved and use #awarechristmas5k on social media.
